Scotch Pine are little used and hard to come by, but they are a welcome addition providing a majestic presence in any yard. They have an open habit, even "shaggy" in appearance, giving the trees unique character and a whimsical look. Perhaps not the best tree for screening, but they add an oriental feel to a Japanese garden or a point of interest in a mixed border.
