"Deciduous trees are sold by caliper size or the diameter of the trunk. Height can vary depending on species. Evergreen trees are sold by height. Height and size to be verified prior to purchase."
A Colorado native suitable for tough, dry sites. The tree in the cover photo lords over Arches National Park in Utah, and others stand sentinel over the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Western Colorado. Obviously, they require zero supplimental water once established. These trees are likely collected from private ranch land or BLM land by permit, so there is a fair degree of genetic variability. They can be rather slender or fat and bushy. Some even have multiple trunks! Be sure to specify a preference when ordering. In the desert, the twisted, knarled timber of standing dead trees may be as attractive as live trees.
